There are opportunities to become involved at First Baptist:
Wednesday Family Night
This is our primary discipleship time. For more information see the information on the right or click here.
Here at First Baptist we take seriously the responsibility of discipling our children. Therefore, in addition to our Wednesday night programming, we also have Children’s Church during the Sunday morning services to teach our children more about the Bible.
We want to help our youth grow and mature as disciples of Christ. To complement our Wednesday night youth ministry, the youth also meet for times of fellowship and/or service monthly. We encourage them to be active in other ministries of the church, and we will also be sending our youth on a mission trip in the summer of 2017.
To help our adults grow in Christ, we offer SALT groups as well as other discipleship and prayer groups. We also encourage each adult to grow in faith by using their spiritual gifts to support the ministry of First Baptist in various ways.
Women’s Mission Fellowship
Women's Missions Fellowship is focused on serving the Lord through ministry projects that share the love of Jesus with those in our community as well as around the world. To support our mission of providing opportunities for women to grow in faith and service to our Lord, there are three "circles" that meet monthly for prayer, fellowship, and coordination of ministry projects.
Praise Team & Choir
The praise team and the choir both sing each Sunday in the worship service. Selections range from stately hymns to contemporary arrangements. Our praise team practices at 6:00 and the choir at 7:00 every Monday night.
We have a team in the Muscatine Church Softball League. Players of all abilities are encouraged to participate. Even though this is a church league, it is often a great opportunity for outreach beyond the walls of the church, as many of the players are friends or relatives of members.
Two of the best ways we invite you to join in our mission to make disciples of Jesus is to disciple your family and love your neighbor. But as we seek to partner with our members to accomplish these goals, we are always needing help. Therefore, we invite you to use your gifts to teach others, to prepare meals for Wednesday nights, to lend a hand in the office, to greet those who arrive on Sunday, or to help take care of our facility.
